The bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies (BAIDS) is a 120-credit program that is designed to be a flexible option for students who are interested in studying across multiple disciplines. The BAIDS program develops academic and workplace skills for success and knowledge across a variety of academic fields. It is ideal for students who have broad academic interests and a desire to continue enhancing their knowledge throughout their lives.

What exactly is the BAIDS degree program?

The BAIDS major permits an interdisciplinary approach to education which provides students with the opportunity to acquire a well-rounded educational foundation acquiring a solid foundation in communication, critical thinking and analysis, and investigating and solving problems. The program allows students to customize their degrees to meet their current or future career goals. Students may elect to focus their free electives by enrolling in a concentration of courses in one subject area. For example, a student who has an interest in business, healthcare, quality management or digital marketing could elect to take up to 12 courses from these specialized areas — or they might broaden their skill set by taking courses in a combination of disciplines.

Is the BAIDS program right for you?

The BAIDS is intended for students who desire the maximum flexibility and a customized degree that stretches across academic disciplines. It is also the perfect degree for those students who have a large number of transfer credits and would like to transfer into a program that allows the maximum amount of flexibility and free electives. While a Bachelor of Science program requires 12 courses in a specific area of knowledge, the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies provides 12 open electives, which allows transfer credits from other institutions without constraints that may exist in other areas.

  • Account Director - average salary $72,000

Admission Requirements

Acceptance decisions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year for our 6 undergraduate sessions. You can apply at any time and get a decision within days of submitting all required materials. Your admission counselor can also help you explore financial options and walk you through the application process, which involves completing an application form and providing undergraduate transcripts.

Fast-Track to a Master’s Degree

Cambridge College Global encourages students to earn both their undergraduate and graduate degrees through the Fast-Track program. Undergraduate students may apply to the Fast-Track program if they have 90 credits and a GPA of 3.0. Accepted students may apply up to 12 graduate credits earned in the Fast-Track program towards the requirement for both degrees. Please discuss your academic plans with your advisor early in your degree.
