How to Choose an Online Business School

How to Choose Online School

What's the most important factor when choosing an an online business school? The short answer is real-world results. Students of online business programs often have full schedules and are working hard to better their position. They don't need a diploma on the wall; they need knowledge and connections that will improve their job performance and get them on the road to career advancement.

Here are four qualities to look for while selecting an online business degree program:

  1. Accreditation: An online business school should be accredited through a reputable organization that monitors and tests schools to ensure they adhere to certain academic standards. Online accredited colleges provide a more rigorous curriculum to help students compete in the job market.
  2. Results: An online business degree should feature coursework that allows for successful student outcomes. These outcomes (including on-the-job performance, promotions and other career improvements) should be demonstrated in a way that prospective students understand the college's track record.
  3. Reputation: An online business school needs to have a good reputation that springs from a credible history. It should also demonstrate that it has the resources and faculty to set it apart from other online business colleges.
  4. Affordability: People looking for online business degrees must often juggle them with other concerns, such as work and family. Online business degree programs should provide the quality of a traditional education without the additional cost.

New England College of Business was founded in 1909 and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. We focus on providing quality online business degree programs to working professionals through an associate's degree program plus bachelor's and master's degree programs. Student outcome is measured by surveying graduates. In 2015, 97% of our graduates stated they have performed better in their positions due to their NECB education and 45% indicated that they have been promoted or have received expanded responsibilities.

The College's online learning platform has garnered several national awards and has the lowest tuition among all private four-year colleges in New England, according to the U.S. Department of Education College Affordability and Transparency Center, 2011-2015.
