Professional Projects or Initiatives of Interest

Board member and former chair of the Sojourner House.

  • Sojourner House is an non-profit organization founded in 1976 by Providence residents and Brown University students who were concerned about what was then a silent epidemic: domestic violence. In its nearly 40-year history, Sojourner House has often been a pioneering organization. We’ve taken steps to determine how best to prioritize our future efforts to help those who are most isolated due to abuse, as well as efforts to improve systemic and institutional responses to people in abusive relationships.

Active member of the Providence Radio Association (W1OP)

Licensed General Class operator (W1ESQ).

Advisory Board Member, Rhode Island Film Collaborative

Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project, an initiative of the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless.

  • My involvement includes consultation and representation on issues of those facing homelessness and poverty. I also staff a monthly homeless legal clinic serving underprivileged members of the community at the Matthewson Street Soup Kitchen in collaboration with the PICA (Providence In Town Churches Association).

Salvation Army, Rhode Island Advisory Board Member.

  • In this role I consult and assist in creating and executing solutions to address issues of poverty, homelessness and hunger.

Advisor Attorney for tink|knit, a student-run social venture initiated by Enactus@Brown that provides an innovative solution to poverty among single mother families by teaching moms how to knit hats, then selling the hats at the Brown University Bookstore.
