In my role as an administrator, I worked with many first generation college students in their orientation and first semester courses. It was important to provide them with the tools for success in navigating the ins and outs of college success.

As an instructor I believe access to knowledge is key, and try to be “jargon free” as much as possible. Language is a tool that can include or exclude… and exclusion has no place in higher education.
