Which Version of Epic Should I Use?
You have both the Epic Player and Epic Web available to access your courses. By having both options you have the maximum convenience and flexibility to access your courses anytime, anywhere, on and offline.
Epic Player
The Epic Player application and the course content are downloaded onto your computer during the initial setup. After the Epic Player is downloaded to your computer, you can access your courses on and offline. Depending on the size of your courses, the initial setup process may take up to 45 minutes. After the initial setup is completed, you can access your courses by simply clicking the Epic icon on your desktop.
It is highly recommended that you download the Epic Player. The Epic Player is a SmartClient application that is best suited for media-rich online courses. It provides 100% reliability in viewing video and other course content because the content is downloaded to your local computer, while it still has the benefit of an online application because it stays connected and syncs up with the server regularly. We strongly advise you to use the Epic Player as your primary method to access your courses.
Epic Web
Epic Web allows you to access courses using a web browser from any computer that has an internet connection. To access your courses, you would log into https://necb.gocourse.net.
Note: Corporate firewalls and other restrictions may limit students' ability to access some or all of the course content while at work.
