Online Learning Platform Introduction

Welcome to the EPIC Learning System, an advanced 21st-century online learning platform that puts your education at your fingertips. This comprehensive instructional system integrates faculty control and academic support to create the next generation of distance learning technology. As a student of NECB, you will be able to take advantage of the EPIC learning system in your own classes.

At the beginning of your online degree program, you will receive an orientation that introduces you to the course and the delivery of the subsequent weeks. You will have access to resources including registration, information, policies, support and schedules. You will know what to expect and how to expect it. The navigation is directly available to you right there on your screen. You can revisit the orientation as needed if you have questions.

Your courses will be introduced through a home screen and Getting Started module that includes your syllabus, a welcome from the course professor, important links and course overview. Weekly lessons are accessed across the bottom of the screen, allowing you the opportunity to see what will be expected of you in each week of your course.

When you choose the week you are working on, you will receive the lesson components, including:

• Learning outcomes
• Readings
• Lectures
• Asynchronous threaded discussion
• Review
• Assignments

Each component of your week and lesson drives the course material and information home through a variety of channels in an effort to help you maximize your learning experience.

The discussion board is asynchronous, allowing you to keep up with multiple threads of discussion, even in real time. You will be able to enjoy video lectures and broadcasts and discuss them with your fellow students and faculty. All lectures and videos are archived, allowing you to go back and review them at any time.

Finally, our gradebook offers you immediate, direct feedback. The gradebook provides you with a wealth of information from time on task to grades earned to upcoming items. You will find up-to-date performance data about how you are doing at any given time during the course.
