Carol Anderson came to NECB from a rich background in higher education. She has held several progressively higher administrative positions as well as has taught in the disciplines of Psychology and Management at NECB and Bridgewater State College. She has also worked with regulatory issues at the college level, establishing policies, procedures and processes to address areas of compliance and accreditation. Prior to her tenure at NECB, Carol was the Director of Compliance for Gibbs College in New Jersey where she also worked to prepared and submit new and revised Associate Degree programs to State and accreditation agencies. As Director of Education at the International Academy of Design & Technology in Las Vegas, NV, Carol established the Education Department to support Associate and Bachelor Degree programs in several disciplines at the Academy. She also oversaw curriculum development and prepared for and received national accreditations for all programs from the Accreditation Council of Independent Colleges and Schools. Carol is a Certified Ethics and Compliance Professional and is currently pursuing a second doctoral degree in Law and Policy from Northeastern University in Boston.

Formerly the Senior Vice President at The Education Alliance, a nationally recognized higher education consulting firm, Christian came to NECB with many years of experience in higher education both in the not-for-profit and the for-profit arenas as a teacher, higher education curriculum and marketing specialist, course designer and faculty mentor. Prior to his position at the Alliance, he held positions at Fitchburg State College and at Harcourt Learning and Thomson Learning. During the 90's, Christian was an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Music at Providence College, where he achieved tenure and served on many committees including the Faculty Senate. Christian taught in the Music and Theology Departments as well as in the renowned Development of Western Civilization Program in the disciplines of Literature, History, Philosophy, Theology, Music History & Literature and Art History. He is also an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Massachusetts.

Christopher Weir, Ed.D., Professor

Chris Weir has extensive experience in adult and professional education, distance learning and academic assessment. He has been Associate Dean of Continuing Education at Emerson College as well as Dean of the School of Business at Harcourt Higher Education's Online College, the first totally online college licensed by the state of Massachusetts. Chris has acted as Dean Ad Interim for course development for an international consortium of universities and has led a three-year project in curriculum, program and course assessment at Brandeis University. His focus at Brandeis is on learning outcomes as the basis for content development and assessment. He also teaches part time at Northeastern University.

Deborah Sementa, Professor

Deborah Sementa has been in the financial services industry for over 23 years. For over a decade, she was a Principal Examiner for the State of Connecticut Department of Banking in charge of information systems examinations in addition to assisting in various other examination and management functions. In her capacity as a regulator, Deborah was a speaker and served on a panel with other industry experts for the Banking Compliance Association of Connecticut. She currently serves as the Compliance Officer for The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, a multibillion dollar community bank, where she oversees the compliance function covering all areas of the Bank. Deborah is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and a Certified Risk Professional (CRP). She is presently pursuing her doctoral degree in Business. Deborah is former president of her local chamber of commerce and served several years as chairperson of the Eastern Massachusetts Compliance Network, an organization with a membership of over 100 compliance professionals.

Ako Doffou, Ph.D.

In addition to advanced degrees in Business and Finance, Dr. Doffou holds several professional charters and certifications, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Dr. Doffou has over a decade of academic experience teaching graduate courses such as Derivatives and Risk Management, Financial Markets, Instruments and Institutions, and Investments. Dr. Doffou has published numerous research articles in refereed journals such as International Finance Review, Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, and Journal of Financial and Economic Practice. Dr. Doffou is a consummate scholar, having presented his research findings at conferences around the globe. Dr. Doffou is the College's first minority hire in its full-time faculty.

Jeffrey C. Cronin

Jeff Cronin has extensive experience in both academic and public libraries. He has been a research librarian at the Harvard Business School for over 17 years, assisting both students and faculty with their research. Prior to Harvard, he served in the investment industry as a stockbroker at Moseley, Hallgarten, Estabrook, and Weeden, and as a securities trader at Fidelity Investments. He is an active member of the Special Libraries Association. He has published in Library Journal and Magazines for Libraries and is a regular contributor to the Journal of Business and Finance Librarianship.
